Screening of Amino Acids on the Growth of Microsporum Canis and Histoplasma Capsulatum

چکیده

Amino acids are the important nitrogenous components responsible for the growth and reproduction of fungi. During this study 10 grams of each amino acids were added into 50ml of sabourd dextrose (SD) liquid media. Later on they were inoculated with isolated dermatophytic fungi ie Microsporum canis and Histoplasma capsulatum and incubated at 25±1oc for 15 days. After 15 days grown fungal were measured. The growth performance of M. Canis and H. Capsulatum on different amino acids are as in order-control < tyrosine < cystein < DL phenylalanine < L proline < L methionine < L histidine < DL valine < DL alanine <serine < Lucien < glutamic acid (M. Canis) , control< L cystein < tyrosine < DL phenylalanine < L proline <L Methionine < L Histidine < DL valine < DL alanine < L arginine < L glutamic acid < Lucien ( H. Capsulatum) .Nitrate nitrogen which is good for dermatophytic fungal growth is also reported to be good for sporulation in several fungi ( Tandon & Grewal 1956 , Tandon & Chandra). H.capsulatum require cystein and other sulphur containing amino acid for fungal growth and yeast conversion (Sliva1958, Gallaria & Laffer 1962, Mc vein & morion 1965, mc Ginnis1980)
